Terms of Service

Last updated: October 1, 2026

The short version

  • Kyra is free and open source under the MIT License.
  • Pawtrol is an optional subscription for $0.99/month or $9.99/year. It renews automatically until you cancel.
  • Paddle.com is our reseller and Merchant of Record. It processes your payment and handles taxes and invoices.
  • You can cancel at any time. Pawtrol keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.
  • You can get a full refund within 14 days of any payment. See the Refund Policy.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the Kyra app for macOS, this website, and Pawtrol, the optional paid subscription inside Kyra. They are between you and Eleven Labs ("we", "us"), the maker of Kyra. By using Kyra, this website or Pawtrol, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

2. Kyra, the free app

Kyra is a free disk cleaner for macOS. Its source code is published at github.com/0xjba/Kyra under the MIT License, and it is distributed through GitHub Releases. The MIT License governs your rights to use, copy, modify and distribute the Kyra source code. If it conflicts with these terms on that subject, the MIT License wins. Every cleaning tool in Kyra is free, with no trial or limits.

3. Pawtrol

Pawtrol is an optional subscription that turns Kyra into an autonomous background agent. It:

  • scans your storage on a schedule you choose, and when free space runs low;
  • automatically clears safe caches that apps regenerate on their own, according to rules you can configure;
  • flags riskier items, such as Docker data, AI models, Xcode archives and the Trash, for you to review instead of removing them on its own;
  • scores what is worth cleaning through our server. That needs an internet connection; when the server can't be reached, Kyra scores locally.

All cleaning happens on your Mac. What Pawtrol sends to our server is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Price, payment and renewal

  • Price. Pawtrol costs $0.99 per month or $9.99 per year (US dollars). Paddle may show the price in your local currency and adds sales tax or VAT where required.
  • Paddle is the Merchant of Record. Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all Pawtrol orders. Paddle processes payments, collects and pays sales tax and VAT, issues invoices, and handles billing questions and refunds. When you buy, your purchase contract is with Paddle under the Paddle Buyer Terms, and these terms govern your use of Pawtrol.
  • Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, and Paddle charges your payment method for the next period, until you cancel.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Paddle will retry it. Pawtrol may keep working for a short grace period and then stops until the payment succeeds.
  • Price changes. If we change the price, the change applies from your next renewal after we've told you, never to a period you've already paid for. You can cancel before it takes effect.

5. Your account and your Macs

  • Pawtrol has no password. Your subscription is tied to the email address you enter at checkout. Keep that inbox secure, because access to it lets someone restore Pawtrol.
  • One subscription can be linked to up to 3 Macs. Linking a fourth Mac unlinks the one that was linked first.
  • To use Pawtrol on another Mac, choose Restore in Kyra and enter the 6-digit code we email you. The code expires after 10 minutes.
  • Each Mac has a random device ID stored by Kyra. It works like a key to your subscription, so don't share it or copy it to other people's Macs.
  • A subscription is for you or your household. Please don't resell it or share it beyond the 3-Mac limit.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in Paddle's customer portal. To open it, go to Kyra › Settings › Manage subscription, or use the link in any receipt email from Paddle. You can also update your card there. After you cancel, you won't be charged again and Pawtrol keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for.

7. Refunds

You can get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment or of any renewal, with no questions asked. Refunds are processed by Paddle. The details are in the Refund Policy. A refund ends Pawtrol for the refunded period right away.

8. Your files and backups

Kyra and Pawtrol are built to remove only caches, leftovers and other data that is safe to delete, and every cleanup path is checked by automated tests. Still, deleting files can't always be undone, and every Mac is different. You decide what Kyra cleans and which Pawtrol rules are on. Please review what you clean and keep regular backups, for example with Time Machine.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • get around Pawtrol's license checks, or use Pawtrol without an active subscription;
  • attack, overload, scrape or probe our server or the scoring service, or send them anything other than what Kyra sends;
  • use Kyra, Pawtrol or this website in breach of the law.

The MIT License lets you modify and redistribute Kyra's source code. It does not give you access to our server or to Pawtrol without a subscription.

10. Changes to Kyra and Pawtrol

We keep improving Kyra and Pawtrol, so features may change. If we ever stop offering Pawtrol, we'll tell subscribers in advance and stop all future renewals. If we suspend or end your access because you broke these terms, we'll tell you why at your email address.

11. Intellectual property

The Kyra source code is licensed under the MIT License. The Kyra and Pawtrol names, the logo, the cat artwork, this website's content, and the server behind Pawtrol belong to us, and these terms don't give you rights to them beyond normal use of the app and service.

12. Third-party services

Kyra uses services run by others, including Paddle, GitHub, Cloudflare, Resend, the scoring service, and ChatGPT for Ask AI. Their own terms apply when you use them. We're not responsible for how they run their services.

13. Disclaimer

Kyra and Pawtrol are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that Kyra or Pawtrol will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that they will free a particular amount of space.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or business, arising from your use of Kyra, Pawtrol or this website. Our total liability for any claim about Pawtrol is limited to the amount you paid for Pawtrol in the 12 months before the claim. For the free app, it is limited to US$10.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and we'll email Pawtrol subscribers about important changes before they take effect. If you keep using Kyra or Pawtrol after that, the new terms apply. If you don't accept them, you can cancel and stop using Pawtrol.
